Field Trip!!

Field Trip to the Holifield Science Learning Center (HSLC)/Outdoor Learning Center! 

Our class will be going to visit the HSLC on November 14th from about 10:15-2:20. We will be going on outdoor hikes and observing the animals at the HSLC and learning about life sciences. 

Please return the field trip form as soon as possible! 

Suggested Attire: 

Please make sure to check the weather and dress accordingly as we will be outside! 

• Long pants or jeans to provide protection from mosquitoes and poison ivy
• Socks and a comfortable pair of closed-toe shoes or hiking boots that may get muddy
• Hat and/or sunscreen (applied beforehand)
• Raincoat or hooded poncho, if rainy
• Warm coat and gloves, if cold

Important Reminders:

• We will leave right on time so please make sure students are here on time. 
• Everyone needs to bring a sack lunch with a drink (Water bottle for the trails is optional). Students who need to buy a lunch will pick up a sack lunch from the cafeteria in the morning. 
• Insect repellent or sunscreen may only be applied at home prior to arrival at school. Loose-fitting long sleeve cotton shirts and long pants are suggested as another mosquito deterrent.

10:15 AM	Depart from school to HSLC
Upon Arrival (10:30-ish)	Lunch at Picnic Tables on Northside of HSLC
11:00-11:15	Whole Group Orientation in Auditorium
11:15-11:30	Break into Investigation Teams for Lesson Introductions
11:30 AM	RED Teams – Animal Room	BLUE Teams – Trails
12:00 PM	RED Teams - Trails
12:30 PM
1:00 PM		BLUE Teams –Animal Room
1:30 – 1:40	Reflection Time for All Teams
1:45 PM	Buses loaded for departure back to school
